Who we are

For well over a century, the San Benito County Republican Party has served as the voice of principled conservatism in our community, tracing its roots to the post–Civil War era when local farmers and small‐town entrepreneurs sought a political home grounded in individual liberty and limited government.

From championing the rights of property owners in the orchards and vineyards of the valley to supporting faith-based charities and civic organizations in Hollister and beyond, our Party has consistently stood for fiscal responsibility, strong families, and the free-market spirit that fuels our region’s prosperity.

Today, we continue that legacy by uniting neighbors around time-honored values—personal accountability, respect for hard work, and unwavering patriotism—while adapting our message to address the challenges and opportunities of modern San Benito County.

The San Benito County Republican Party stands with our largely agricultural community of over 64,200 residents (62.4 % Hispanic and 29.4 % White non-Hispanic) who face pressing challenges like scarce water resources, rising housing costs (with a median household income of $108,289), and daily commutes averaging 36.1 minutes for many workers.

We will champion responsible water policies that fund local irrigation upgrades and conservation initiatives, push for regulatory reform and incentives to develop more affordable housing, cut red tape and lower taxes to empower small businesses and family farms, and invest in rural road and transit improvements to ease commutes. By focusing on these priorities, we’ll ensure hardworking families, growers, and entrepreneurs can prosper right here in San Benito County’s unique cultural and economic landscape.

Looking forward…
